Tribute Bike for Kyle  / Robin Summers (Aunt)
2007: Kyle's father, Rodney Bridges had his bike painted in honor of Kyle and all the men that died in 2/6 Echo.

You were loved!  / Aunt Robin

We all want to make our place in this world
We all want our voices to be heard
Everyone wants a chance to be someone
We all have dreams we need to dream
But sweeter than any star you can reach
Is when you reach and find you've found someone
You'll hold this world's most priceless thing
The greatest gift this life can bring
If you can look back and know
You were loved.

CHORUS:
You were loved by someone
Touched by someone
Held by someone
Meant something to someone
Loved somebody
Touched somebody's heart along the way
You can look back and say
You were loved.

You can have diamonds in your hand.
Have all the riches in the land
Without love do you really have a thing
When someone cares that you're alive
When someone finds their world in your eyes
Then you'll know you've find all you need
You'll hold this world's most priceless prize
The sweetest treasure in this world
If you can look back and say
You were loved

CHORUS

So many roads that you can take
Whatever way you go
Don't take that road alone
Better you should know...
You were loved by someone
Touched by someone
Held by someone
Meant something to someone
Loved somebody
Touched somebody's heart along the way
You can look back and say
You did OK
You were loved.
So remember to tell that one
You are loved.

Your Marine - My Hero!  / Patricia Perkins-Kard (Marine Parent )
Never Say Goodbye
As I Was On My Way To Heaven
I Turned And Looked Behind
I Could See The Pain And Sorrow
And My Loved Ones State Of Mind
I Could See They Mourned My Passing
As I Watched They Began To Pray
They Dropped Down On Their Knees
This Is What I Heard Them Say
I Know You're Now In Heaven
Because I Saw Jesus Waiting There
I Know He'll Take Good Care Of You
And Give You Tender Loving Care
Someday Soon We'll Meet Again
In That Mansion In The Sky
There We'll Be Together Forever
And Never Again Shall We Say Goodbye
In Loving Memory Of
Kyle William Brown

Who Went To Be With Jesus January 7, 2006

We are never prepared for the loss of a loved one,
But God is always prepared to help us through that loss.
May his presence begin the healing in your heart and soul,
May his love surround you with comfort only He can give

Gone, but not forgotten.
Thank you for sharing Kyle with us,
and for the sacrifice made by you and your family on our behalf.

a brother to remember  / Rachel Petersen (sister)

I WAS GOING THROUGH THE PICS ON THE SITE AND IT BROUGHT ALOT OF MEMORIES BACK OF ME AND KYLE. EXPECALLY THE ONE OF ME AND HIM ON THE FRONT PORCH WITH ME GIVING HIM A BIG HUG. I MISS  MY LITTLE BROTHER AND I WISH I WOULD HAVE GOT TO KNOW HIM AS A MAN. I MISS HIM SO MUCH AND ITS HARD TO HANDLE SOMETIMES. BUT I WILL REMEMBER HIM IN HIS WEIRD AND ODD WAYS THAT HAUNT MY MEMORY EVERYDAY.

Every man an Emperor  / Luke James-Ashwood (British Brother-in-Arms )
I have just returned from a tour of Al Amarah with D Coy, 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment. As a close friend to Pte Lee Ellis (www.lee-ellis.memory-of.com) who tragically lost his life in the pursuit of Peace on 28th Feb I realise how very difficult this must be for all and my most heartfelt sympathies are with all of Kyles friends and family. Like Lee, Kyle was doing what he did best. Nobody wants to be a hero but sometimes it just turns out that way. There is a little saying in our Regiment, a quote by Field Marshall Montgomery after World War 2, who said: "Every Man an Emperor." An accolade, I feel that extends to all those who display true courage in the face of adversity to which Kyle is no exception.
Remember, only on those darkest of nights, do we see the brightest stars.
R.I.P. Kyle and may God bless all those who fight with you.
Luke "Ash" James-Ashwood

My Brother In Law  / Denise Dorey (His brother Jason's Fiance )
My heartfelt sympathy to Kyle's family in the loss of Kyle. I didn't have the chance to get to know my Brother in law Kyle, but  would have loved to of had the chance to meet him, as I have heard so many wonderful stories about him and his love for his family, friends and this country. He was a brave young man and a hero in many hearts, including mine. I know he was a  inspiration to many, and the hope and joy in so many eyes, he reminded people all over the world, how important it  is to stand for what you believe in and fight for your freedom, and to follow your dreams, allowing you create your own destiny.
Rest in peace Kyle , you have made us proud.
Brothers in arms  / Richard Linn (Father of a fellow fallen Marine )
Kyle,

I regret never having met you.  My son died in action a year before you.  Know that we honor your dedication and sacrifice.  I'm in touch with your Dad now, and somehow we'll help each other get by.  We're not sure just how.  But we have your example of Honor, Courage and Committment.  We will  try to make you proud of us.

Proud / Craig Hopper
As a serviceman serving in UK Forces and having recently returned from the Middle-East my heart goes out to the friends and family of Kyle, The job that he was doing is an extremely hard job not helped by peace activists in our own countries, it is time that rather than criticise government's our people unite to support all our forces personell as they don't ask to be sent to these sittuation's it is just expected, Kyle is a real hero and people whon are willing to criticise our troops for being out there would not know the word hero.
Again i am so sorry for you loss. Having recently lost my own daughter (Keavey-Louise Hopper 19 january 2006) I feel the pain and having also lost friends in other combat area's i know the loss,

You are all in my thoughts

Letter From Heaven  / Teri Chandler

Letter from Heaven

To my dearest family, some things I would like to say,

but first of all, to let you know I arrived okay.

I am writing this from heaven. I dwell with God above,

Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy Just because I'm out of sight.

Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,

God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

"It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone,

As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.

I need you here so badly; as part of my big plan,

There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do,

And foremost on the list, is to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you... in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and those loving years,

because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain,

Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.

But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb,

But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...

That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,

Then you can say to God at night....."My day was not in vain."

And now I am contented...that my life has been worthwhile,

knowing as I passed along the way,  I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,

just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.

When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;

I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go...from that body to be free,

Remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

The Final Inspection:  / Elena Lowery (none)

 THE FINAL INSPECTION

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

       "Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you ?
Have you always turned the other cheek ?
To My Church have you been true?"

The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
       "No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
        Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
       And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
         That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
        And sometimes, God, forgive me,
         I've wept unmanly tears.

        I know I don't deserve a place,
         Among the people here.
   They never wanted me around,
         Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,
         It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
         As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
         "Step forward now, you soldier,
         You've borne your burdens well.
         Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Memorial Day Thoughts and Tears  / Nate (Friend, fellow Marine )  Read >>
Memorial Day Thoughts and Tears  / Nate (Friend, fellow Marine )
Today, obviosuly, was Memorial Day. A day that most people only associate with cookouts, pool openings, and beer on sale at Food Lion.

It is about something bigger than that...much bigger.

Memorial Day-originally known as Declaration Day-is our national day of remembrance for all the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives to protect this great nation of ours. It was first inacted after the Civil War, to commemorate Union troops who died in the war. After WW1, and the horrific losses we encountered, it was expanded to include any American serviceman or servicewoman who died in any military action.

Being involved in an age awash in war and strife, chances are nearly all of us know some one who has paid the ultimate price so that we may remain free. This day is meant to be a requiem for them, and so it shall be.

PFC Kyle W. Brown, 22, died during combat on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, while serving his second deployment in Al Anbar Province, Fallujah, Iraq. I attendede high school with him at Heritage High, where we both were members in the Naval JROTC unit there. He graduated a few years ahead of me, but we continued our friendship, and eventually served together in the II Marine Expiditionary Unit, based at Camp Lejuene, North Carolina. He lived his whole life to be a Marine, and his determination was an inspiration to me, and many others. He gave the ultimate sacrifice, killed in small arms fire. His memory lives on, as well as his Marine's spirit, in the heart and sould of all of us who have been proud enough to claim that most honorable of titles-United States Marine.

As I sit here and write this, my thoughts drift to memories of him. I think of his quiet, easy going manner. Of his quirky sense of humor. His big heart, and his unfathomable spirit. Mostly, of his pride in Corps and Country. I think of this, and I cannot help but weep. This is a man who made the Corps better by having him, all of us better for knowing him. He was everything a Marine should be, and I will never forget him. These tears are more than just sentimental musings, they are a mourning for one of the greatest men I have ever known.

I served with Kyle during his time with 2/6.  I was also an assaultman with 2/6 weapons company, and I am also a Virginia native.  I am the guy paying my last respects with a salute and tears streaming down both cheeks.  Kyle and I did not have many conversations, but every interaction was pleasant.  I lost a few of my brothers while I served my 4 years.  I was with Kyle in 2003 when we went to Iraq for the invasion, I was with him training in Japan, and I was with him during the 2005 deployment to Iraq for the second time.  I am now a civilian with only half of a heart because a piece of my heart was taken with every brother I lost in Iraq.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.  Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time.

Mr. Brown,

My husband and I met you today at the Thunder thru the Tunnels ride at Harbor Park.  We were admiring your motorcycle you had painted as a tribute to your Marine son and his comrades.  So I had to find something on the internet about when & how your son was killed.  And I remember reading his story in the Daily Press now and how moved to tears I was when I read about his death.  At that time, our Marine son was getting ready to deploy to Iraq for his 2nd tour of duty (he was in Afghanista 2004-2005) and he expressed to us (also) his concern of the level of danger of the location he was heading to; Al Anbar Province which was a hotspot at the time.  I also remember when I was reading the article how similar our sons were: close in age, our son graduated from Menchville HS in Newport News, he was in JROTC and how the Marines told him to lose some weight and then come back and see them later.  So he did; he lost 65 lbs. before heading to boot camp and then lost 30 more while there.  That's how bad he wanted to become a Marine also, just like Kyle.  I am so sorry you lost your son in Iraq.  There are no words I can say that will ease your pain other than know how much we admire your brave son and we will never forget his sacrifice to his Country & Corps.

It was a pleasure to shake your hand today.  We too are proud of your son.  He is one of the chosen few; once a Marine, Always a Marine!

Gone But Not Forgotten  / Misty Day (sister of Fallen Marine Cpl. Rusty Washam )

The Fallen
Written by Andrea Senter

They never thought when they left here
their families they'd see no more
No one dares to think about
The high price of such a war.

If you asked them why they did it
They'd say because it was right
Someone has to stand up
And someone has to fight

A world away they defend our cause,
as we tuck our kids in bed.
Some give all for all of us,
And somewhere tears will be shed.

They do not ask for fame or fortune
Just that we recognize
We are here, free, today,
Because the fallen have paid the price.

~THANK YOU KYLE~
